Blountville, TN:  US Airways has lowered walkup fares from TRI to several major U.S. cities and destinations in Florida. This more competitive pricing structure allows passengers traveling on short notice for business trips or vacations to find great fares to popular cities such as Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Newark, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City and St. Louis.  US Airways has also lowered fares to the sunny Florida destinations of Ft. Lauderdale, Ft. Myers, Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando, Sarasota, Tampa and West Palm Beach. 

"We are extremely pleased that US Airways is working with Tri-Cities Regional Airport to make travel from TRI more competitive and affordable," said Melissa Thomas, TCRA director of marketing and air service development. "Typically, passengers need to book at least 21 days in advance and stay over a Saturday night to get the best rates, but with these new fares, passengers can still afford to take a trip even if they can't book three weeks in advance."

"Walk-up fares" refer to tickets that are purchased for immediate travel. Based on a comparison report for available fares during the week of February 16, the new walkup fares represent a reduction in price from 10 percent to 68 percent depending on the destination. Limited seats are available at the reduced fares and reductions won't apply to all cities served by US Airways. Fares are subject to change and may sell out quickly. Additional baggage charges, fees and taxes may apply.
